Leg misalignment
Surgical correction is carried out if conservative treatment does not provide sufficient relief. Sometimes surgery may be necessary at an early stage to prevent consequential damage.
The lower leg bone and/or thigh bone are cut through and fixed with a plate to correct the alignment of the leg.
The operation is followed by six weeks of partial weight bearing.
