Knee
The knee joint is a hinge joint that connects the thigh bone (femur) with the shin bone (tibia). It is held together by ligaments and tendons, which stabilize the joint and prevent excessive movement. The cartilage in the knee protects the bones from wear and reduces friction during movement.
The knee joint allows the bending and straightening of the leg and is essential for walking, running, and jumping. In addition, it provides stability during movement by allowing controlled rotation and limited sideways movements.
