Malposition of the femur

Test

Deformities in the femoral neck area can be congenital or acquired and lead to incorrect loading and premature joint wear.

Surgery is performed if the deformity causes pain or a significant functional disorder and conservative measures are not sufficient.

The femur is cut in a targeted manner, the axis is corrected and fixed with a metal plate.

Physiotherapy usually begins early after the operation. In the initial phase, the leg will only be partially weight-bearing. Thrombosis prophylaxis and ongoing physiotherapy measures support the healing process. The overall course of rehabilitation can vary depending on the individual situation.
