Hip

Test

The hip joint plays a key role in the transmission of forces between the trunk and the legs.

The hip joint contains cartilage and the labrum. The labrum is a cartilaginous rim located at the edge of the hip socket. It deepens the socket and helps keep the head of the femur securely in place. Together with the cartilage, it protects the bones and allows smooth and low-friction movement within the joint.

The hip supports the body’s weight and stabilizes the trunk during standing, walking, and running. As a ball-and-socket joint, it allows a wide range of movement and plays a central role in mobility in everyday life and sports.
