The human foot consists of 26 bones and a large number of stabilising ligaments, tendons and muscles. Numerous functional problems can arise in the complex interactions of these structures, bringing pain with them.

Orthopaedic treatment of foot problems includes conservative and orthopaedic procedures, surgical measures (to some extent with complex reconstructions) and providing information and consultation with a view to prevention.
